LMK ZA

A child of Chiawelo in Soweto and raised in Spruitview in the East Rand, LMK ZA a.k.a LMK ZA born Bangiswani Makopo a BCom graduate is a multi-faceted entrepreneur and multi talented rapper, producer, song writer, Afro House, Soulful House ,Deep House & Amapiano DJ.

Who in his younger days worked the desk at Ghetto Ruff and honed some of his skills at Guluva Entertainment while working on Getto Sons’ second album. He has also produced, wrote and featured on songs for Cameroonian musician Wax Dey. Lord MAK has been actively involved as a CSI and Entertainment sponsor under his record label Noir Nubian sponsoring local soccer teams and students. At the 2019  SAFTA awards along side Thapelo Mokoena he presented Presley Chweneyagae and Moshidi Motshegwa with the award for best actor and actress in a Telenovela.

He has performed amongst the likes of Kwesta and Micasa. On the 7th May 2019 he released his debut 13 track Mixtape “Son of Musa” under his own independent record label Noir Nubian.

Working with both local and international producers on his mixtape, LMK dives deep into his personal agony, aspirations and triumphs on songs like “Fire in The Sky”, “Postman” & “Mrazane” Lord MAK has held a deep passion for music and hip-hop especially from his adolescence he would recite the lines of Method Man Break-ups to make ups “You and I till the day we die…” with a LL Cool J swag, ahead of the times of being a ‘love’ rapper.

But also absorb the deeply reflective lyrics of DMX, LMK was absorbing all the genre had to offer. He cut his teeth on play-ground battles and honed his skills through writing raps on pieces of paper. LMK was getting an education while getting an education.

Inspired and influenced by entrepreneurs in the music industry internationally and locally such as DJ Sbu, Oskido, JAY-Z and P. Diddy.  Lord MAK uses his music and the stage not only to entertain but to inspire those who are hopeless. His debut single “866” was a homage paid to his hometown. Laced with sharp, intricate flows and clever lyrics. 2021 has seen LMK feature Big Zulu OBZ on his street anthem “Umthandazo” which is a Hustlers Ode to Zola 7 & Brown Dash who in thier careers had songs titled “Umthandazo wabo lova”. The music video features a cameo appearance by the legend Zola 7 himself. In 2024 he released a single alongside DJ Sabby, Loki , Obren, Ndaba Ndaba and Khalipha Igama titled Shelele which reached #1 on the Metro FM charts.

LMK is set to release his EP titled Supa Guz inspired by the late 90’s to early 2000’s kwaito sound. The EP sets to shape the sound of the future fusing Amapiano, Kwaito and Hip Hop
